Dr Michèle Gales was born and raised in Luxembourg, in the Moselle region. After earning her high school diploma from the Athénée de Luxembourg in 2011, she began her dental studies at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), where she graduated in 2016 with Grande Distinction and as top of her class.
Following a highly selective entrance examination, she was admitted to the postgraduate specialization program in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at ULB. She then completed four years of full-time intensive training at Erasme University Hospital in Brussels, earning her specialist qualification in orthodontics in 2020.
Dr. Gales has a particular passion for invisible lingual orthodontics and further specialized in this technique through a two-year postgraduate program at Université Paris-Cité.

What are orthodontics?
Dentofacial orthopedics, or more commonly known as orthodontics, is a specialty of dentistry that focuses on correcting tooth misalignment as well as growth irregularities of the jaws and the lower two thirds of the face.
What is a specialist orthodontist?
A specialist orthodontist is a qualified dentist who has completed additional full-time postgraduate training in dentofacial orthopedics over four years. Admission to this specialization is highly competitive and granted through a selective entrance examination. This specialized training, conducted at a university hospital, combines both theoretical and clinical education, equipping orthodontists with the expertise to diagnose and treat patients effectively.
Only dentists who have successfully completed this specialized program are authorized to use the title “Specialist Orthodontist”.
